SALEM, OREGON

Guided by the principles of sustainability, Sustainable Fairview Associates LLC developed a plan to facilitate the best possible use of the remarkable 274 acre Fairview property. Formerly owned by the State of Oregon, Fairview served for many years as an institutional facility for the developmentally disabled. Through the reuse of existing buildings, construction of new environmentally friendly buildings, protection of open space and ecologically sensitive lands, and introduction of creative commercial and residential development, it could become a model of sustainable community development.

2020 ENGINEERING, as part of the master planning team, was responsible for water use and re-use (reclaimed wastewater), site planning, stormwater management, roadway design, on-site composting and recycling, and other civil engineering components of the project. Completed 2007.
